Our FC program is a year old now and we've seen over a hundred players put on the sky blue for us. The time has come for our chapter to expand our soccer playing operations into our very own league.
The first season of this league will lean more towards organized pickup than a traditional rec soccer league, where teams/rosters are defined beforehand and you live or die by them. All players that join will be rated on a 1-5 scale (privately) and teams will be divided to keep the total skill levels as even as possible. You also won't have to stress about subs as they will be handled by the league. We'll check in every week on which of the full-season players are going to make it and post subs availability to those looking to play on a week-to-week basis.
All teams will be open play. No matter your age/gender/experience, you can play. There will not be a required number of girls on the field at one time, or anything else like it. The league is for everyone that wants to come out and play soccer in a league much more geared towards fun and comradery than cuthroat competition. We are still keeping our competitive teams at CFRS for those interested in doing that instead or playing in both.
The field is at Hawthorne Scholastic Academy about two blocks from the Belmont stop (Red/Brown/Purple). We will be sponsoring with one of the local bars there to be the official post-game stop, where you'll be able to watch the afternoon's NFL action with each other.
Game times will be from 10-11:15, and will be extended to 12:30 if the demand calls for it. Weekly play will be $15, but you can lock in a guaranteed spot each week at the considerably cheaper cost of $60 for the season. Those are the only tickets on sale right now.
